Somebunny is Home!

It is just me or have Lego gifts with purchase been pretty impressive recently?

From the Christmas Carol diorama to Amelia Earhart's plane The Lockheed Vega 5B - Lego has really been crushing it in the free gift department.

Speaking of awesome, March 2021 brought us some great new sets including some new Brickheadz that I am very excited about and this year's Easter promo did not disappoint.

Set # 40449

Piece count 232

"Untitled" but Limited Edition

This might be a little set but what it lacks in pieces it makes up for in personality and character. The brick built bunny is impressive for the number of pieces used to build it and while a set with no minifigs would normally be disappointing, the bunny is just so perfect(and adorable) that it makes up for it. There are a LOT of stickers, some of which are on the smaller side so you will need a steady hand to get those right.

The overall design of this set looks beautiful, they did a really good job rounding out the carrot house and making it look well, like a carrot. The colours are true to the box art and the orange and green really make this set pop, which is a nice departure from the pastel colours we have seen in previous Easter related sets. I really like the part usage on the "flowers'', Part 24948 (egg) in medium lavender and Part 29362 (headgear crown with 5 points) in white are combined to create this egg bloom which adds to the outside aesthetic, it's a simple detail but really goes a long way towards creating the story of this set which is much appreciated!

The inside is kind of small but given the fact that this set is only 232 pieces that isn’t surprising and there are still some neat details inside, including a brick built dresser and three stickers that decorate the inside of the house nicely. The rug is my favourite. The door is functional, albeit a bit of a tight squeeze for our little bunny friend. The shutters and small flower details on the window are a nice touch to the outside and there is even a small mailbox because even bunnies need somewhere to have those Lego orders delivered.

As a bonus we also get a little space in the attic where the bunny can hide it’s Easter eggs or in this case, egg - it’s a nice little surprise but not super functional and combined with the small dimensions inside, this set doesn’t have great playability - it is however a fun build and a cute little display piece.

Overall I think this set stands up to the caliber of gift with purchases we have seen from Lego in the past 6 months and is a perfect addition to any bunny's Easter basket.

I am looking forward to what next month’s calendar has in store.
